so I.E. is short for Integrated English. Pretty much the boys get about 3 days off from regular class and do 3 days of various exercises/ workshops in English. I was in charge of Math I.E. for the 7th graders. On Friday afternoonm, a selected number of 7th grade students played the faculty (us) in basketball and in indoor soccer/ futsal. Here is a view from my side of the court- getting looked on by about 400 7th graders.
Faculty won easily in basketball but lost in futsal. During halftime of the basketball game is when this glorious video below occurred. I sat court side during halftime, shirt sweated through and gasping for air after chasing down 7th graders' rebounds, as a line of boys sat down for some sort of race. The teachers were placing various food and drink all over the court. I realized this was some sort of eating competition. Then I took a look at the competitors, and realized that in all 8 of my 7th grade classes, these were hands down the 8 biggest boys in the entire 7th grade. It was a heavyweights chunker speed eating competition.
1st stage- eat a hot dog surrounded with bread covered with ketchup and cheese
2nd stage- drink a full 12 oz pepsi can
3rd stage- consume a full hard boiled egg
4th stage- eat a mini banana
5th stage- blow a balloon up until it pops in your face
may the fastest chunker win!
